This year we are specially supporting:
Binti is a registered charity, with a mission to provide menstrual dignity to all girls, all over the world. This means facilitating access to pads to ensure menstrual hygiene, educating girls about what menstruation is and what they can expect from it, and dispelling stigma, taboos, myths and negative perceptions around menstruation.
Founded in 1986, WildCRU has grown to be one of the largest and most productive conservation research institutes in the world.
The Trans-Kalahari Predator Programme is one of WildCRU’s largest projects, focused on the predators of southern Africa and their conservation and interactions with people. African lion populations have suffered an estimated 75% range reduction in the last 100 years. Continent wide, there may be as few as 20,000 lions left in the wild with many isolated populations recently disappearing or facing imminent extinction, for which habitat loss and human-wildlife conflict have been identified as primary drivers.
We love to travel – experiencing different cultures and landscapes. This means we fly, which isn’t great for the long-term health of the planet. To balance this out, we offset all our annual travel through donating money that supports environmental projects such as gyapa stoves in Ghana – which reduce charcoal emissions by 50%.
